VETERAN BENEFITS

The American Legion has long advocated for veterans’ benefits, playing a crucial role in establishing the modern VA, the GI Bill, and numerous healthcare benefits. Each year, The American Legion files thousands of VA claims nationwide on behalf of America’s veterans. PROJECT: VetRelief leverages the structure of The American Legion to connect active duty military, veterans, and their families with knowledgeable and trained VetRelief Advocates in their local areas.

No service member should have to fight to receive the benefits they have earned. Unfortunately, this happens every day. PROJECT: VetRelief ensures that our active and retired military members and their families can properly access and utilize the benefits they deserve. We can do this because we have been there. Our VetRelief Advocates have experience navigating the sometimes-tedious process of assessing earned benefits, applying for them, and then accessing them properly. Let those who have come before you light your path.

VetRelief Advocates can assist with a variety of needs, including but not limited to:

VA disability benefits
Compensation for a service related injury/disease
Medical care
Education entitlements
Vocational training
Housing options
Veteran nursing home access
Death and burial benefits
Benefits counseling
Other important related topics

Benefits Support Process

Local VetRelief Advocates meet individually with active and retired military members and their families to assess available benefits and privileges.
We assist in preparing benefits claims for disability, compensation, hospitalization, naturalization, and education/vocational training.
We do more than fill out paperwork; we are advocates and friends. We set up and attend appointments, make calls, and follow up to ensure timely benefits.
PROJECT: VetRelief has extensive relationships across the state, allowing us to quickly find answers and ensure claims are completed accurately and efficiently.
