POPULATION SERVED

In 2023, 18.3 million men and women, representing 7.1 percent of the civilian population aged 18 and over, were veterans. This significant number means that nearly half a million service members transition to civilian life each year.

Florida is home to over 1.42 million veterans, the third largest veteran population in the nation, following California’s 1.53 million and Texas’s 1.44 million. This accounts for 12% of Florida’s population aged 18 and over, as reported by the Florida Department of Veterans Affairs.

Support is available for active-duty military members and veterans from all branches (Army, Navy, Air Force, Marines, Coast Guard, National Guard, and Reservists), as well as for the immediate family members (spouse or child) of service members residing in Florida. To receive support, service members must have an honorable discharge or honorable separation. Membership in The American Legion is not required to receive assistance. You have honorably served your country, and we are dedicated to serving you.

All services provided by PROJECT: VetRelief are offered at no cost to those served.
